Aqualine Activated carbon filters are used for the treatment of unwanted chlorine, color, taste, odor-dissolved gases, residues and organic substances in water. Activated carbon is a carbonaceous material with a very large surface area (1000-1500 m2 / gr). The efficiency of the active carbon filter is determined by the properties of the activated carbon used in the filter bed and the filtration rate of the water.

Another issue to be considered about activated carbon is that the mineral deposit can create a suitable environment for bacterial growth. Because activated carbon accumulates organic matter in its body and if there is bacteria in the water, bacteria can reproduce by using this organic substance as food. In such cases, bacteria leakage is possible. For this reason, it is important to disinfect the water before and after the activated carbon.
